What's in Saigon's “Little Tokyo”? – Khanh An Monastery
Originally, Khanh An Monastery began as a small temple constructed by Master Tri Hien in 1905. At that time, the temple was situated between the villages of An Loc Dong and Hanh Phu. It served as a gathering place for many patriotic soldiers during the anti-French resistance period, often targeted and destroyed by the French colonialists.

Khanh An Monastery is constructed in the style of Northern Buddhism, featuring architectural elements strikingly similar to those commonly found in Japan. Each area and even the smallest decorative details here exude the essence of the Land of the Rising Sun. Noteworthy are the monk's quarters and guest pavilion constructed from wood and adorned with characteristic red pathways.
