The expanded version of the fantastic role-playing game Persona 5 is set to hit the market. Persona 5 Royal will include a plethora of new content and refinements, similar to what developer Atlus has done in the past with Persona 4 Golden and Persona 3 FES. But it seems not just about adding content, as the main storyline is undergoing changes with the introduction of new characters who will have a certain influence on the original adventure of the Phantom Thieves. Some Exciting Features to Look Forward to in Persona 5 Royal
1. Introduction and Fresh Music
Persona 5 Royal presents a new opening right in the trailer. Naturally, this opening explodes with the confident, unique style of the Phantom Thieves and includes crucial hints leading to indications of a new gameplay. Alongside that, instead of the familiar track 'Wake Up, Get Up, Get Out There' from the previous version, 'Colors Flying High' is the theme song for Persona 5 Royal.
2. New Character - Kasumi Yoshizawa
The standout addition in P5R is the new character, Kasumi Yoshizawa. She will have a significant impact on the story upon joining the Phantom Thieves. Based on Kasumi's dialogues in the trailers, she has expressed her thoughts to Goro Akechi about the Phantom Thieves and whether she believes in their methods, as well as their vision for justice. It seems she will be in a state of conflict throughout the story.
In battles, Kasumi engages enemies with a lethal strike using a razor-sharp sword and a Winchester-style gun. As seen in the image above, you can observe that Kasumi has relatively low SP compared to other members in the group. This may indicate she is a warrior focused on both gunplay and close combat.
3. New Confidant - Takuto Maruki
P5R not only introduces a new Phantom Thief, supporting in battles alongside the other members but also features a new confidant named Takuto Maruki. He serves as a counselor at Shujin Academy shortly after Kamoshida's disruptive actions. Takuto's role is to aid people in recovering from their traumas.
4. New Semester
Persona 5 Royal includes a 3rd semester, expanding the narrative throughout the entire academic year. It's uncertain what the new semester will entail, whether it's a means to enrich the story or a hint at changes in Joker's fate at the beginning of the year.
5. Kichijoji - New Exploration Spot in Tokyo
Players have a new area to explore and unwind, and that's Kichijoji. Based on a real location in Tokyo, Kichijoji is believed to be a youth-oriented district with numerous shops, restaurants, and activities.
6. Assistance to Overcome Challenges
Discover new support options like Coop Assist and Status Assist, aiding players in overcoming challenges throughout the game experience. As an RPG with a vast amount of content, it can be overwhelming for many players, so having assistance is truly fantastic.
In addition to these notable additions, Persona 5 Royal also features social events, New Year celebrations, palaces, new enemies, and many other features. From refined gameplay mechanics to entirely new content additions, there's a lot to look forward to, making it well worth investing hours into when the game is released.
