Following in the footsteps of others, OnePlus is gearing up to enter the foldable display race. The company is rumored to be developing not just one, but two phones in this lineup. While specifics are scarce, OnePlus has confirmed work on a unique foldable phone. Let's explore this product through recent leaks and rumors.

Name Revelation
Currently, the name for OnePlus' inaugural foldable phone remains uncertain. However, a trademark listing with the Chinese National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) hints at the possibility of 'OnePlus V Fold.' Leaker Mukul Sharma first discovered the listing on Twitter, and it still exists on the CNIPA website.

In addition to the OnePlus V Fold, the company is developing a second, more compact foldable phone with a clamshell design akin to the Galaxy Z Flip and Oppo Find N Flip series. While details are scarce, trademark filings suggest it could debut as the OnePlus V Flip.
Design and Technical Specifications
While the OnePlus V Fold may bring some improvements compared to the OPPO Find N2, it's likely to share a similar design language. Therefore, we can expect this smartphone to be more compact than the Galaxy Z Fold4. The device may also feature a hinge mechanism akin to the Find N2, a detail previously hinted at by OnePlus CEO and co-founder, Pete Lau.

OnePlus remains tight-lipped about the hardware specifications, but it's likely that the OnePlus V Fold will be equipped with Qualcomm's latest flagship chipset, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. Similar to the Find N2, the device may come with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM, 512GB of storage, and a large battery with fast charging support. Additionally, the device is likely to sport a 2K foldable display for an expansive viewing experience.
In terms of photography capabilities, the OnePlus V Fold may feature a triple-camera setup like the Find N2, along with two selfie cameras. Unfortunately, the specifics of these cameras have yet to be revealed, but they are likely to be fine-tuned by Hasselblad.
Software
While we don't have much information about the hardware of the OnePlus V Fold, it's possible that it will use a software version similar to the Find N2. Since OnePlus has integrated its OxygenOS base with OPPO's ColorOS, and OxygenOS 13 is a copy of ColorOS 13, the software experience may be similar.

Hence, you may see a range of new multitasking gestures to quickly perform tasks like opening split-screen view and launching apps. Since the device is expected to debut in September, the OnePlus V Fold may ship with Android 14.
Pricing and Release Date
OnePlus officially unveiled the OnePlus V Fold earlier this year at the OnePlus 11 launch event. The company aired a brief teaser towards the end of the event, giving us a glimpse of the hinge mechanism. The teaser also revealed that the device will launch in the third quarter of 2023, but the exact release date remains unclear.

As for pricing, it's still too early to say what price point OnePlus aims for with its foldable flagship. However, it may be considerably more expensive than the OnePlus 11.
Some speculations suggest that the OnePlus V Fold could have a price tag equivalent to the Find N2, which OPPO sells for 7,999 CNY (approximately 27.3 million VND).
