Both Intel Core i7-13790F and Core i5-13490F are not entirely new processors, as the information was sent to Intel MDDDS last month but details have only now surfaced. Based on the revealed information, the new processors will be designed exclusively for the Chinese market, similar to the Intel Gen 12 generation.

The Black Edition variant in the Intel Gen 12 generation had only one processor, the Intel Core i5-12490F. Initially, the product was not well-received due to its unbelievably high price. However, as the price of the Core i5-12490F dropped to near the Core i5-12400, it attracted a considerable number of users.
If the pricing strategy remains the same, the 13th generation Black Edition Intel processors will face a similar situation. Despite leaked images in CPU-Z software and information indicating impressive performance, the pricing may still be a concern.
Returning to the technical specifications of the Intel Core i5-13490F, the processor maintains similar cores to the Core i5-13400F with 6 P-Cores and 4 E-Cores, resulting in a total of 12 cores and 16 threads.
Changes begin to emerge with the increased maximum clock speed now reaching 4.8GHz and a larger cache. The Intel Core i5-13490F boasts a 24MB L3 cache and a 9.5MB L2 cache. In comparison, the Core i5-13400F is equipped with a 20MB L3 cache and a 9.5MB L2 cache. Hence, it is evident that Intel has increased the cache capacity by an additional 20% and the clock speed by 4%.

In terms of performance, the Intel Core i5-13490F achieves 779.7 points in single-core testing and 6834.5 points in multi-core testing with CPU-Z software. As a result, the Black Edition processor achieves a performance boost of over 8.5% in multi-core strength and over 5% in single-core strength compared to the standard Intel Core i5-13400F processor.

At this moment, it remains unknown when Intel will officially introduce the Core i7-13790F and Core i5-13490F processors. There is a likelihood that the company will announce the next processor version very soon, but in a quiet and less sensational manner than the previous generation.
