Edward dazzled like a diamond in a Twilight scene.
Twilight - Chạng Vạng had its fair share of scenes that left audiences deeply intrigued and puzzled. One such moment was when the main character Edward (Robert Pattinson) unexpectedly sparkled under the sunlight, captivating Bella (Kristen Stewart). So, how did the crew achieve such a seamless effect? And why do the vampire characters in Twilight shimmer like that?

According to behind-the-scenes revelations, making Edward sparkle like a diamond was actually quite simple. To accomplish this, the special effects team merely... added a pre-existing sparkling effect all over his body. However, Edward and Bella, when filming together, were unaware of this, yet they had to portray it as if it were real.
But it didn't stop there; both actors had to film under powerful lights. The light was directed straight onto the Twilight actors to facilitate post-production. However, Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson had to lie there and gaze at each other for quite a while. Both pretended to be deeply infatuated, though in reality, they were suppressing laughter due to the awkwardness. Evidence of this is the hearty laughter shared by Stewart and Pattinson at the end.
Explaining why vampires in Twilight could sparkle like diamonds, the underlying principle behind this was quite clear. Vampires fear sunlight, and exposure to sunlight causes their cells and tissues to harden. Naturally, the harder something is, the easier it reflects light. In the story, Bella described Edward's skin as cold, rigid to the touch, yet exquisitely sparkling under sunlight.
According to CBR, vampires sparkling under sunlight is also a tactic to lure prey, giving them more time to control and dominate their opponents.
