Getting to Nusa Penida Island
As Nusa Penida emerges on the horizon, you'll embark on a thrilling boat journey from the main Bali island. The high-speed boat departs from Sanur Beach, whisking you to Nusa Penida in just under 1 hour. Ticket prices for the high-speed boat are approximately IDR 150,000 (245,000 VND) and operate hourly from 7 am to 4 pm.

Nusa Penida Snorkeling
One of the must-do activities in Nusa Penida is snorkeling! With crystal-clear waters, you'll miss out on a world of marine life if you don't take the plunge. For those without a diving permit to explore the ocean floor, snorkeling with a mask is an excellent option as many marine species swim close to the surface. Even if you're a beginner swimmer, don't worry! You can still experience the wonders of the ocean with the help of a life jacket!
Here are some ideal snorkeling spots:
1. Underwater Buddha – Pemuteran Temple Garden
The underwater Buddha is truly a remarkable sight! Local artists Captain Paul M. Turley and Chris Brown placed these Buddha statues 10 years ago. The largest statue stands at 2.5 meters tall, accompanied by smaller Buddha figures. The water flow around the statue near the Buddha is quite strong, so if you're not a professional swimmer, we recommend wearing a life jacket!
2. Manta Point
Have you ever swum alongside a giant manta ray? Don't worry, manta rays are completely harmless to humans as they have no stingers and no venomous spines in their bodies.
At Manta Bay, depending on the season, you might encounter anywhere from 1-10 manta rays at once! Swimming with these gentle giants is undoubtedly an experience you must try!
If you're lucky (specifically, extremely lucky), you might even spot creatures like dolphins! We once discovered a pod of dolphins leaping out of the water and immediately threw off our masks to dive in and chase them.
3. Crystal Bay
Crystal Bay is far from ordinary; the crystal-clear waters here are perfect for novice divers who want to spot tropical fish but are apprehensive about strong currents. As the coastal waters are relatively shallow, you don't have to dive deep to encounter these colorful fish!
4. Nusa Penida Broken Beach – Pasih Uug Beach
Named Broken Beach due to a massive sinkhole in the midst of rock formations, this beach is an unmissable sight on your Nusa Penida visit! From the cliffs, peer down below, and if the tide is low, you might spot various fish swimming. Walk across the natural rock bridge and witness powerful waves crashing against the rocks, creating foamy waves traversing the emerald waters.
5. Angel’s Billabong
Angel's Billabong is just a short walk from Broken Beach, and both attractions should undoubtedly be visited simultaneously. You can stroll to the edge of the cliffs, and because the water is exceptionally clear, you may even see vibrant corals and diverse marine life here!
If you visit on a low tide day, you might even swim in the pool at Angel's Billabong. Swimming near the edge will make you feel like you're in nature's infinity pool! Note that tides can suddenly rise, and the waves can hit the rocks quite strongly, so on high tide days, it's advisable not to swim in this pool as you might be carried into the sea.

6. Kelingking Beach
Kelingking Beach is perhaps the most iconic spot in Nusa Penida, appearing in most photos when you search for Nusa Penida! With stunning cliffs and waters, you might even spot small fish below! You have two options – climb to the top of the cliffs or hike down to the beach!

There's also a secret tree at the top of Kelingking Beach that will help you get a photo with a million likes and capture the stunning landscape of the beach! Be cautious while climbing the tree as there's no safety net below, you might very well fall down!
