Annie Leibovitz A Photographer’s Life 1990-2005 Exhibition (From April 18 to October 19, 2014)

Step into the highly acclaimed exhibition by photographer Annie Leitbovitz, one of America's most renowned photographers. Audiences will marvel at the unique portraits of famous figures and warm family moments captured by Annie Leitbovitz's artistic talent.

Leitbovitz, renowned for his role as a photographer specializing in cover shoots for famous magazines like Vanity Fair and Vogue, will exhibit portraits of celebrities such as Leonardo Di Caprio, Brad Pitt, Jamie Foxx, Demi Moore during pregnancy, Scarlett Johansson, and Nicole Kidman. The exhibition will also feature Leitbovitz's photojournalism on the Siege of Sarajevo in 1990 and Hilary Clinton's campaign for the US Senate.

Genesis by Sebastiao Salgao (From June 20 to July 27, 2014)

Location: National Museum of Singapore, 93 Stamford Rd.

To capture the stunning images of southern right whales, Salgado spent weeks on a boat along the Valdés Peninsula on the Atlantic coast of Argentina. Summer is also the migration season for these animals, and Salgado waited for the perfect light to capture moments of these animals, over 15m long and weighing nearly 40 tons, as they moved along the boat.

Since its first art exhibition in 1977, Singapore International Festival of Arts (SIFA) has become an annual cultural event of performing arts. This year marks the 37th edition, bringing audiences high-artistic-value dance, music, and theater performances.

Exploring the theme “Legacy and the Expanded Classic”, the exhibition will highlight the 20th-century heritage ranging from personal, political, and social issues to artistic heritage. It will also address the values passed on to the future through artistic performances such as music, theater, painting, visual arts, short films, music, and literature. The exhibition focuses on defining “classic” and its influence in the modern society of the 21st century.
