Update on Entry Regulations for Taiwan from October 13, 2022

After an extended period of Taiwan restricting entry and implementing strict regulations to control the pandemic, on September 29, 2022, the Taiwan Centers for Disease Control (CECC) officially announced: 'From 0:00 on October 13, 2022 (local time), all passengers arriving in Taiwan do not need to provide a negative PCR test, do not need to declare health information before entry, and do not need to quarantine upon entry into Taiwan.'

However, passengers still need to self-monitor their health for 7 days after entering Taiwan. Border-related restrictions will also be lifted starting from 0:00 on October 13, 2022. Specific self-monitoring regulations and ensuring health safety are as follows:
– Implement testing measures limiting tourist entries to no more than 150,000 people per week.
– Travelers should monitor their health at home or at the homes of relatives, friends, or hotels. Hotel rooms must meet the condition of one room per person, with a private bathroom.
– Limit contact with individuals at high risk of infection, including individuals over 65, children under 6, and those with weakened immune systems or underlying health conditions.
– Avoid leaving the house if experiencing any symptoms of illness.
– A negative rapid test result is required within 2 days before going out, going to work, or going to school.
– It is advisable to wear a mask in public places.
– If you have mild symptoms of Covid-19, you can self-care and self-isolate at home.
