Based on the actively controlled disease situation in many countries and the negotiation outcomes of authorities, Vietnam Airlines has planned to resume international flights in the first half of 2022.
Update on international flight schedules by Vietnam Airlines
The resumption of flights will be carried out in two phases and subject to approval and implementation by the relevant authorities.

According to the above flight schedule, Customers wishing to purchase tickets for these commercial flights need to follow these steps:
Step 1: Prepare necessary documents including:
a. For foreign experts coming to Vietnam for work or business:
i. Official letter from the Provincial/City People's Committee allowing entry.
ii. Official letter from the Provincial/City Department of Health instructing quarantine for guests.
iii. Quarantine hotel information, customer contact information.
b. For Vietnamese nationals: In addition to the above documents, a letter of entry permission from the Consular Department is required.
c. Contact Mytour for document provision and Mytour agents will assist in waitlist bookings with Vietnam Airlines.
Step 2: Vietnam Airlines will verify information and confirm bookings for customers.
Step 3: Within 72 hours before departure, Customers provide or supplement vaccination documents with sufficient vaccine doses and negative Covid test results by RT-PCR and send them to the Airline.
Step 4: The airline transfers passenger information to relevant authorities, ensuring flight permission and execution according to the plan.

Implementing the Plan to resume regular international flights carrying passengers to Vietnam by the Ministry of Transport (MoT) was approved by the Prime Minister in document No. 334/TB-VPCP dated December 10, 2021; document No. 13352/BGTVT-HTQT dated December 15, 2021 of MoT implementing the Prime Minister's directive on the plan to resume regular international commercial flights and agreement between the Vietnamese aviation authorities (Letter dated December 17, 2021) and Japanese aviation authorities (Letter dated December 22, 2021), the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) guides and requests airlines, relevant agencies, and units to implement the following:
1. In addition to the currently licensed flights, airlines send proposals to CAAV for consideration of flight permits according to the agreed content between the Vietnamese aviation authorities and Japan with specific frequencies and routes as follows:
-Vietnam Airlines: Hanoi/Ho Chi Minh City-Tokyo and vice versa, 3 flights/round/week.
- Vietjet Air: Hanoi/Ho Chi Minh City-Tokyo and vice versa, 1 flight/round/week.
- Japan Airlines and All Nippon Airways, Tokyo-Hanoi/Ho Chi Minh City and vice versa, frequency not exceeding 04 flights/round/week for both airlines combined.


Vietnam Airlines continues to work with authorities to supplement and finalize flight plans. Vietnam Airlines will update passengers as soon as possible in case of flight changes due to force majeure.
