The VLC app developers also revealed that currently, 99% of the programming code is the same for both Windows and Windows Phone. This is a step towards the launch of an SDK for Windows 10. The next update of VLC, version 1.3.1, will be available for Windows, Windows Phone, and even Windows RT, addressing existing issues and improving performance next week. This update to version 1.3 is exclusively for Windows Phone.
The Windows Phone version now syncs color schemes with Android and iOS, with an added back button for easier navigation on smaller devices. Smart and intuitive list sorting with Semantic Zoom in the Album section has been implemented.
Performance has seen significant improvement, making video search faster and simpler. New icons have been added, and color customization is now possible using Windows 10 APIs through Reflection. On smaller devices, the 'now playing' feature has been removed as it's redundant, while larger screens offer additional options with larger buttons.
Browsing music and videos within folders allows playing a folder like an album. The LastFM feature is now functional on Windows.
