Earlier this month, PUBG Mobile was banned by the Indian government along with hundreds of other Chinese apps citing concerns over national security. This is part of India's retaliatory action against events at the border. With PUBG Mobile being the most popular electronic game in India and the most popular e-sport, the gaming community in the country has been shattered - some have opted to switch to other games like Free Fire or Call of Duty Mobile. However, if you're in India, you can still update PUBG Mobile and experience this game as the PUBG Mobile server is still accessible from this country.
How to update PUBG Mobile without using Google Play
Indeed, PUBG Mobile isn't completely shut down in India, and you can still access the server after downloading updates from sources outside the Play Store. However, if you're using an iPhone to play PUBG Mobile, there's no other way as you can't install the game on iPhone without the App Store.
If you still have the game installed on your Android device, an update required error message will pop up when you enter a match. You can tap the Update button to download the APK file from the mobile browser. This seems to be a 'bypass' step by PUBG Mobile, as previously the game would redirect to the store for updates. However, this download only works on Samsung and Xiaomi devices.
After downloading and installing the file, the game will automatically update, and you can play as usual afterwards.
If you've removed PUBG Mobile from your smartphone, you can reinstall the game through the APK and OBB files. The download link and installation instructions have been shared in the following article:
