Step 1: Click on the Apple icon (bitten apple) at the corner of the Macbook screen.
On the screen, a menu will appear, here you click on Software Update....
These actions open the App Store application, where you can update the Safari browser on Mac OSX very easily.
Step 2: Find and activate the Safari browser update
When you open the App Store window, you'll see all available updates, including Mac updates and updates for System Applications (like iTunes, Safari, Security Updates, ...) under Software Update section as shown below:
Clicking the
By selecting UPDATE ALL, you'll install all System Application updates as well as third-party updates - you might need to restart your computer if you choose this option.
It's advisable to install all available updates. However, keep in mind that updates may alter the functionality of some software. So, it's wise to backup your system before installing System Updates.
If you only want to upgrade Safari browser, click on the More blue link to expand System Applications, allowing you to select the update to install.

Step 3: App Store will update Safari
The latest version of Safari for your system will be automatically downloaded and installed. This process may take a few minutes, depending on your Internet connection speed.
You can see a green progress bar showing the number of installations that have taken place.
Step 4: Safari browser is updated
Safari is displayed in the Updates installed in the Last 30 Days section in App Store Updates.
If you choose to install updates for other applications, Safari will also be updated along with them.
Ensure that your Safari browser copy is up to date.
In normal circumstances, the App Store will check for updates and prompt users to install them. If for any reason the App Store cannot update Safari browser, you can contact support for assistance or download the latest version of Safari browser.
