In the upcoming Free Fire OB27 update, Garena has finally decided to eliminate gold requirements, allowing players to upgrade character skills without spending gold. Here, Mytour will list everything you need to know about this noteworthy change.
Use Fragments to Upgrade Character Skills in Free Fire
Upgrade character skills in the old version of Free Fire
Gold Coins serve as the in-game currency allowing players to upgrade character skills, enhance combat efficiency, or improve survival abilities in Free Fire. The dual requirement of gold and fragments for character upgrades makes the system overly complicated. Even when acquiring a new character, additional spending is necessary to maximize their skills.
With the constant addition of various new characters in Free Fire, players face challenges in gathering the required materials for character upgrades, discouraging the acquisition of new characters. For this reason, Garena has decided to completely remove the gold-based character skill upgrade system starting from Free Fire OB27.
Upgrade character skills in the new version of Free Fire
In the past, upgrading skills from level 2 to 8 incurred gold costs starting from 500, 1000, 2000, 4500, 8000, 12000, to 16000. A staggering 44000 gold was required to max out a character's skills, leading to player boredom and easy abandonment.
Now, players will only need fragments to level up Free Fire character skills instead of using gold as before. From levels 2 to 8, it will cost 100, 300, 500, 700, 1500, 2500, 4000 fragments respectively for each character. Unused gold can be used to purchase skill slots, unlock new characters, spin the lucky draw, and much more.
