1. Connecting a Laptop to an External Monitor on Windows 11
Step 1: Identify the input port on your monitor and prepare the appropriate connecting cable.
- The HDMI port: This port features 6 sides, with the longest side at the top. Next to the port is the label HDMI.
Step 2: Access Settings. Navigate to Display > System. Then choose Display to reveal options on the right side.
Step 3: Select Display to reveal options on the right side. Adjust screen settings. On the right interface, scroll down to find Multiple displays. Click the arrow next to Multiple displays to reveal options. Choose Detect other display, and for wireless connections, select Connect to wireless display.
2. How to connect to an external monitor even when the Laptop is folded on Windows 11
Step 1: Access the Control Panel.
Step 2: Choose Hardware and Sound from the options.
Step 3: Navigate to Power Options. Then select Choose what closing the lid does.
Step 4: Under When I close the lid, opt for Do nothing for both Battery and Plugged in. Note: For sleep mode, use shortcut keys instead of simply closing the lid.
