As you may know, previously, when uploading photos to Instagram, the 1:1 aspect ratio was a distinctive feature of this app compared to other social media platforms. Along with nostalgic filters dating back to its inception in 2010, Instagram caused users frustration as they had to crop photos to fit the ratio or use third-party apps to 'fill in' the gaps. However, now when selecting photos and videos to share on Instagram, you have the option to use the original frame size. Filters and photo editing tools remain unchanged, except for the Crop and Rotate options. Details on how to upload photos to Instagram without square cropping will be discussed in the following article.
How to Upload Photos on Instagram Without Square Cropping

Step 2: Launch the app and log in to your Instagram account. On the user interface, tap the + icon in the middle at the bottom of the app's system tray.
Step 3: Choose a photo you want to post on Instagram in the usual way, then tap the two arrow icon at the bottom left corner of the photo to change the aspect ratio. By default, Instagram still encourages users to use the square 1:1 ratio.
Step 4: After adjusting the photo ratio, the next simple step is to edit filters, tools, and upload the photo to Instagram as usual.
Previously, users who wanted to preserve details in their photos had to resort to third-party apps, which added extra space in the image to create a square picture. This led to loss of details, unattractive images, and even smaller, harder-to-view photos when uploaded.
Furthermore, nowadays, many users, for various reasons, may decide not to use Instagram anymore and wish to prevent others from following or peeking at their account. They can fully utilize the feature to delete their Instagram account or temporarily deactivate it.
