How to Use Google Photos on iPhone and Android Devices
Before using Google Photos on your phone or mobile device, you need to install and log in to the app first.
Step 1: Download Google Photos from the iOS or Android app store. Alternatively, download directly from the following links:

- Download Google Photos for iPhone
Step 2: Once downloaded, the app will automatically install on your phone. When you open the app for the first time, tap Get Started to begin using the app.
Step 3: The app will prompt users to log in with their account and password. Proceed with the normal login process. You will then have two additional options:
- Backup and Sync: Allows the system to automatically synchronize all photos on your device.
- Use mobile data to backup: When wifi is not available, the system will use the user's mobile data (e.g., 3G, 4G...) to connect.
Step 4: After tapping Continue, you will have two more options:
- High Quality (High Quality): Allows users to back up for free, unlimited storage. However, users will be limited to a maximum photo size of 16MP.
- Original (Original): Allows you not to be restricted in terms of photo size. However, with this option, users can only use about 15GB of storage.
Step 5: After you press Next -> select the photos you want to back up -> then click on the + button at the top right corner.
Next, choose a folder to create, here we choose Album.
Then, you name the folder and you have completed the backup process.
Step 6: If you want to smartly edit photos, Google Photos already has this feature built in. Simply open any photo -> then select the pencil icon to edit the photo as you wish.
Step 7: If you want to collage photos, create a GIF, or make a video on Google Photos -> go to Assistant. Here, users can choose:
- Collage: used to merge multiple photos into one with a white background,
- Animation: to create GIFs and Movies to turn into videos.
- Movie: This feature is similar to creating a video from photos with added sound.
