Activating the Format Dialog:
Method 1: To activate the format dialog in the excel spreadsheet, press Ctrl + 1.
Method 2: To format a specific cell, right-click on the target cell and select Format Cell.
Then the Format Cell dialog box appears with the first tab being Number, divided into 3 sections

The Category dialog box displays 12 types of basic formatting
- General: General formatting is the default format in Excel. It can display decimal numbers, integers, or scientific notations.

Use commas to separate thousands by selecting the Use 1000 Separator (,) option.
There are also 04 options for displaying negative numbers
- Currency: Currency format
- Accounting: Accounting format, with currency symbols aligned vertically
- Date: Date format allows users to choose different date formats
- Time: Time format allows users to choose different time formats
- Percentage: Percentage format allows users to choose the number of decimal places to display and always includes the “%” sign

- Scientific: Scientific format, if you enter the number 5 into this format, it will display as 5.00E+00
- Text: Text format, where all data is displayed as text
- Special: Special format
- Custom: Custom format, for example: to display “04/12/2015” as “ December 04, 2015” we add the following format:
Step 1: Open Excel and enter “04/12/2015”
Step 2: Press Ctrl + 1
Step 3: At the Number tab, select Custom and enter ( 'Date' dd ' month' mm ' year' yyyy ) in the Type section
