Parsec is a free software chosen by many gamers as an effective solution for streaming games between two computers. In this article, let's explore this control software and how to install and use Parsec on your computer.
1. Download, Install, and Register a Parsec Account
Step 1: Visit the website https://parsec.app/downloads to download Parsec.
Click on Download for Windows 64 Bit to download it for your PC.
Step 2: Open the setup file => select Per User (1) to apply for each Parsec account/computer. Click Next (2) to proceed with the installation.
Step 3: After installation and Parsec opens, click on Sign up to register an account.
Step 4: Enter the email (1) for registration and the username (2) => Click Next (3) to continue.
Step 5: Create a password (1) following conventions such as: minimum of 8 characters, including lowercase letters, uppercase letters, numbers, and special characters. Then, toggle the switch Set up two-factor authentication now (2) to turn off to set up two-step verification later. Click Create Account (3) to create your account.
Afterward, you'll be directed to the account information page. Complete the final registration step by opening the registration email to verify your account.
Step 6: Open Parsec on your computer and log in with account/password (1) => Log In
2. How to Use Parsec
2.1. Making Friends on Parsec
Connecting with friends on Parsec helps you quickly connect with computers instead of using invite links.
Step 1: On Parsec, click on the friends section (1) => Add Friend (2).
Step 2: Find your friend's name (1) => click on the icon Add (2).
Notification about friend invitation sent is displayed on the screen.
Step 3: On the recipient's computer, click on the Friend (1) section => View Friend Requests (2).
Next, click on the checkmark icon to accept the friend request.
2.2. Connecting Between Two Computers via Share Link
Step 1: Click on the Computer (1) section => Share (2).
A notification appears indicating that you have successfully created a share link. Click Got it to dismiss the notification.
Step 2: If the link is not yet copied, right-click on the link (1) => Copy (2).
Step 3: On the controller's computer, select the Computer (1) section => paste the share link (2) => Join (3).
Step 4: On the sharer's computer, click on Accept to grant sharing and control permissions to the recipient.
Next, click on the Parsec logo (1) and checkmark:
Gamepad (2) to authorize Gamepad control on the client machine
Keyboard (3) to authorize keyboard control
Mouse (4) to authorize mouse control.
Additionally, to disconnect from remote control, simply click on Kick (5) to exit remote control mode.
Step 5: On the Remote control interface, click on the Parsec logo (1) to display features such as:
Hide Button (2): Hide the function menu on the screen. You can reopen the function menu using the shortcut Ctrl + Shift + M.
Chat (3): Display the chat window.
Fullscreen (4): Switch to full-screen mode or windowed mode.
Sound ON (5): Transmit sound to the remote machine.
Codec (6): Modify video signal encoding.
Decoder (7): Alter signal processing method using software or GPU driver.
Disconnect (8): Terminate device connection.
