In recent updates, Facebook has introduced the ability to use video as your avatar. However, this feature is only available on iOS and Android platforms; on desktop, users can only set a static image as their avatar. This article will guide you on using video as your Facebook avatar.
Note: The steps are the same on both iOS and Android, so users can follow along similarly.
Step 1: Open the Facebook app and go to your Profile section by selecting the Menu tab.
Next, select the Camera icon next to your Avatar and choose Select Profile Picture or Video to proceed.
Step 2: Here, you'll have 03 video options as follows:
- Camera: Record a video directly to use as your Avatar
- Scroll Camera: Choose from existing videos on your phone
- Suggested Photos: Select a video you've previously posted on Facebook
In this article, Software Tricks will utilize existing videos on your mobile device and proceed to select the desired video as your Avatar.
Step 3: After selecting the video for your profile picture, you'll need to further customize them to enhance their appeal. First, let's choose Edit.
In the editing interface, you can opt for Shorten Video to select the most appropriate and visually appealing segment for your Avatar.
- Cut Tab: Trim the video to fit the frame snugly.
- Sound Tab: Allows us to toggle the sound of the video on or off.
- Thumbnail Tab: Enables you to choose a frame from the video to display as a thumbnail (before the video plays).
Once you've completed the editing process, select Done to save your changes.
Step 4: Next, select the Frame tab to choose a frame for the video to make it more vibrant and appealing.
Step 5: Finally, you can set it to Temporary if you don't want this video avatar permanently (until we change to another avatar). The temporary feature will automatically switch back to the previous avatar after a set number of days, as per your chosen timeframe.
Step 6: Once all the settings are complete, click Use to set the video as your Facebook avatar. With that, you've completed the process of setting a video as your avatar.
