If you receive feedback from others that they can't hear your voice, you need to check your microphone.
Step 1: Ensure that the microphone is connected to the computer and if the microphone has a volume control button, make sure the volume is turned on.
Step 2. Open the Zoom app, click on the upside-down arrow icon next to the Join Audio option located at the bottom left corner of the Zoom toolbar. Then select Audio Settings.

4. Echoing Sound
If others hear echoing from your end or you hear echoing when others speak, you or they may need to sit a bit away from the microphone or switch to a microphone with noise-canceling capabilities. Another effective solution in this case is to use headphones instead of external speakers to prevent ambient noise from entering the microphone.
Optimizing Sound Quality on Zoom Meeting
1. Use Wired Connection Instead of Wifi
Weak or unstable internet connection is also one of the causes of audio issues when using Zoom. That's why when participating in or hosting an online class, meeting, you should use a wired Ethernet connection instead of Wifi for a quality and stable connection. Simply because Wifi networks are often affected by various factors in the environment, such as signal obstacles, electronic interference, walls, metals... Ethernet is more stable and reliable.
2. Enable Original Sound in Zoom
You can utilize microphone audio without the need for Zoom's echo cancellation and audio enhancement features. If your microphone or audio device already has noise cancellation or built-in audio enhancement features, and you don't require additional enhancements, then you should use the original sound. To enable the original sound option in Zoom, follow these steps:
- Access the Zoom.us website and click on Settings.
- In the Meetings tab, enable Allow users to Select Original Sound.
- Open the Zoom application on your computer, navigate to Settings > Audio > Advanced.
- Check the box Show in-meeting option to Enable Original Sound.
3. Utilize Optimal Audio Devices
To ensure better audio quality, consider using dedicated recording headphones or communication headsets if available during online meetings or classes. This helps reduce the risk of encountering unwanted audio issues.
