One of the highly regarded new features on iOS 8.3 is the Message Filtering functionality within the iMessage app. Not only does iOS 8.3 rectify previous iOS issues, but it also introduces numerous new features, with Message Filtering being one of them. To utilize this feature, follow these steps:
On your home screen, navigate to Settings > Messages > Filter Unknown Senders, and toggle the switch to activate it. After enabling this feature, when you return to the Messages app, you will notice two separate columns instead of one. The first column is labeled Contacts & SMS, while the other is named Unknown Senders.
Emails and phone numbers not in your contacts will be stored under Unknown Senders within the Messages app. Here, you can choose to delete these messages or mark them as spam (Junk). Moreover, the information and phone numbers of the senders will be reported to Apple to prevent spam messages from reaching other users.
If you don't see the Message Filtering function as described above, your device may not have successfully updated to iOS 8.3. To upgrade, go to Settings > General > Software Update.
Even if you don't utilize Touch ID features, updating to iOS 8.3 promises a plethora of exciting experiences. New features eagerly await your exploration upon upgrading to this latest version.
