For instance, if you want to validate data input in the birth year column with values ranging from 1993 to 1999.
Step 1: Select the cell to validate data input -> DATA -> Data Tools -> Data Validation -> Data Validation...

Step 3: After selecting Whole number for the attribute, Minimum and maximum values will be displayed -> enter the minimum birth year value in the Minimum section and the maximum birth year in the Maximum section -> OK.
Step 4: Switch to the Input Message tab under the Title section, enter the title for the message, in the Input Message section enter the content of the message -> click OK.
Now when you move the mouse to the data cell requiring the birth year entry, a message displays:
If you enter a birth year outside the range from 1993 to 1999, an error message will appear -> click Cancel to re-enter the data.
