According to Valve, Counter-Strike 2 will be an upgrade utilizing the tools and features of Source 2 to revamp the system, content of the game, and enhance player experience. Additionally, the graphics of the CSGO will also be upgraded with sharper textures and more vibrant lighting, ensuring a more realistic experience for players.

Transitioning to Source 2, the tool Valve used to upgrade graphics and performance for Dota 2 in 2015, will also bring improvements to gameplay. Notably, the functionality of smoke grenades stands out. In an introductory video, smoke grenades will now exist as 3D objects in Counter-Strike 2, allowing them to interact with other elements in the game and enabling players to more easily discern light, bullet trajectories, and explosions through smoke.
Furthermore, the server architecture of Counter-Strike 2 will be altered with the introduction of the Sub-tick system, a feature Valve claims will enable game servers to respond instantly as players move, shoot, or throw grenades. Instead of assessing responsiveness with factors like 64, 128 ticks, Counter-Strike 2 will be the most responsive version of CSGO to date.
This summer, Counter-Strike 2 will be officially released and provided as a free upgrade to Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. All items owned by players in CS:GO will also be transferred to Counter-Strike 2. Additionally, you can check out the CSGO system requirements to ensure your device can play smoothly and reliably.
