'Divine Canine' CES effortlessly takes down LX while 'Herd of Buffalo' secures a hard-fought victory
In the match on November 24th in the VCS Winter 2021, all eyes were on the clash for the top spot between CERBERUS Esports and Luxury Esports. While CES maintained their strong start to the season with a string of wins against strong opponents like SBTC Esports and Team Secret, LX also impressed with three consecutive 2-0 victories (as of November 24th). Even the defending VCS Spring 2021 champions - GAM Esports - suffered defeat against LX without being able to secure a single game.
In game 1, CES and LX could be seen maintaining a balanced game throughout the laning phase. However, an experienced Artemis turned Caitlyn into a powerhouse in team fights. By minute 21, although the gold difference between the two teams was only about 3k, Caitlyn in Artemis' hands was too strong, allowing CES to easily roll snowballs and secure the first win for Divine Canine.
Game 2 was even simpler for CES than game 1 as this team controlled the game right from the laning phase. In particular, Pun's terrifying Tahm Kench along with EGO's proactive plays helped CES dominate LX throughout the game. Game 2 ended swiftly after just over 25 minutes with a gold difference of over 12k favoring CES.

The second match on November 24th is also noteworthy as Saigon Buffalo will face Team Secret. Game 1 can be considered a balanced game where both teams held their ground until the final team fight. SGB had the Dragon Soul, but TS had the Elder Dragon. However, in the final team fight, TS made a critical mistake. Shogun and especially Hasmed played exceptionally well, helping SGB turn the tide and secure the victory in game 1.
Moving on to game 2, once again TS and SGB maintained a balanced game for most of the match. However, with neither Hasmed, Froggy, nor Shogun having impactful champions, SGB couldn't turn the tables anymore. BeanJ performed less effectively than the experienced DNK from TS, who helped TS control almost all objective fights and thereby, control the entire match. The score was 1-1 after 2 games.
Hasmed proved to be the leader of SGB at the moment with a stellar performance in game 3. Playing Jayce, Hasmed didn't fall behind at any point and served as the primary damage dealer for SGB in the early and mid game, also creating space for AD Carry Shogun to power up. TS couldn't handle an SGB with two fed AD Carries and accepted defeat 1-2 after the second match day of the second week of VCS Winter 2021.

With the victory on November 24, CES claims the top spot from LX while SGB also maintains their position in the top 3 leading teams. As for LX, the loss doesn't significantly affect their position on the standings. However, TS continues to struggle and currently shares the bottom two spots on the VCS Winter 2021 leaderboard with Team Flash.
