Phan Dũng, nestled in the mountainous region of Tuy Phong district, Binh Thuan province, lies approximately 20 km from Liên Hương town.
Embarking on the Phan Dũng Adventure – a Golden Spot along Vietnam's Most Stunning Trek
When Tuy Phong is mentioned, thoughts often gravitate towards the Cổ Thạch Pagoda, the seven-color rock beach, the electric phong field with colossal windmills, or the Son Ganh cliffs ablaze in the sunlight. Only in recent times, as the Tà Năng – Phan Dũng trek gained popularity as a dreamlike trail for avid travelers, did the name Phan Dũng begin to echo in conversations.
Getting Around
Tuy Phong is approximately 300 km away from Ho Chi Minh City. You can easily reach this destination by either passenger car or motorbike. Tickets for buses to Tuy Phong are available at the Eastern Bus Station, offering a variety of departure times and numerous carriers. Alternatively, you can book Phương Trang bus tickets, but since they don't have a direct route to Tuy Phong, you'll need to purchase a ticket for the Nha Trang route and alight at Tuy Phong.
If you're traveling by motorbike from Ho Chi Minh City, follow National Highway 1A towards Phan Rang – Thap Cham. Take a left at the Liên Hương intersection, and after approximately 20 km, you'll reach the mountainous commune of Phan Dũng. Recently, National Highway 1A has undergone renovations, boasting a splendid and smooth surface, reducing travel time to just about 5 hours.

When to Visit?
There are two ideal times to explore Phan Dũng. First, from December to February in the lunar calendar. During this period, it's not the peak of the dry season, the weather is pleasantly mild, the sky is clear, making it perfect for trekking through the majestic landscapes.
The second favorable time is in July and August in the lunar calendar. By then, Tuy Phong has experienced a considerable amount of rainfall, revealing vineyards laden with fruits, lush green meadows, and notably, the lavender-hued hills of Phan Dũng in full bloom.
What to Eat?
You can opt for the various eateries in Liên Hương, offering an array of fresh and delicious seafood at budget-friendly prices. Alternatively, bring your own provisions. If you enjoy fishing, the pristine streams in Phan Dũng await, ready to contribute to a fragrant grilled fish feast.
Where to Stay?
Located about 20 km from Liên Hương town, Phan Dũng is nestled deep in the mountains, almost secluded from the outside world. Consequently, there are currently no viable accommodations such as hotels or inns for overnight stays.
You can opt to rent a hotel in Liên Hương, then travel to Phan Dũng and return within the day. Alternatively, you may seek accommodation in the homes of the kind-hearted Rắc-lây ethnic locals. For nature enthusiasts and trekking aficionados, the best approach is to bring along a camping tent and spend the night by a babbling stream or on a dreamy hill covered in purple flowers.

What to Pack?
Given the hot weather in Phan Dũng and Tuy Phong in general, it's advisable to prepare a hat, sunscreen, a jacket, and bring plenty of water during the sunny season. For the rainy season, ensure readiness with raincoats and suitable footwear.

Bring a tent, sleeping bag, and especially insect repellent if you plan to camp.
