Embarking on an expansive trekking journey spanning three provinces: Lâm Đồng, Ninh Thuận, and Bình Thuận, a trail that entices every wandering soul.
Trekking Tà Năng – Phan Dũng: Conquering two seasons, rain and shine.
Fortunate to experience both the dry and wet seasons on what is considered the most beautiful trek in Vietnam, capturing countless picturesque and unique scenes between the two seasons.
In the rainy season of September 2016, Tà Năng – Phan Dũng beckoned with lush green rice paddies, undulating hills in shades of vibrant green, towering mountain ranges, bamboo forests, and sparse woods filled with trees and shrubs. Returning during the dry season of 2017, I was impressed by the dark yellow barren hills, burnt grasslands, streams waiting for water, golden-hued forests of dry grass, white blooming coffee plantations, and somewhere deep in the valley, rice paddies painted red, enhancing the natural scenery.

Gazing into the distance, Tà Năng – Phan Dũng leaves a multitude of emotions stirring within travelers, from eager anticipation and joy at the lush green mountain scenery to a sense of melancholy and empathy for the burnt hillsides, with areas charred black and desolate from wildfires.

The winding path through Doi Doc Dao is absolutely stunning, providing a picturesque backdrop for incredible photo shoots. The contrasting scenery of the two seasons here is truly remarkable, with one side lush green and the other side dry fields of golden grass.

Droppin Hill is renowned for its breathtaking sunrise and sunset views, making it a popular overnight camping spot for trekkers. During the dry season, the area is covered in charred black grass, with hillsides almost entirely burnt, while in the rainy season, lush greenery blankets the rolling hills.

The beautiful hills at the end of the Ta Nang - Phan Dung trail (a short 30 km stretch) seem to have become a trendy spot for young people to take Instagram-worthy photos. In the rainy season, the hills are cloaked in lush greenery, while in the dry season, the golden brown grass creates a charming vintage backdrop. The sparse forests of Phan Dung are interspersed with low-lying foliage and waist-high grass, with a hot, dry climate. Passing through this area on rainy days feels like crossing a lush green rice field, while during the dry season, it's as if the rice has turned golden ripe.

During the rainy season, along the trekking route, you'll encounter many sheltering trees and nameless wildflowers. In the dry season, sheltering trees are hard to come by, and wildflowers are sparse, while purple sim flowers boast vibrant colors.
During the rainy season, along the trekking route, you'll encounter many canopy trees, along with various unidentified wildflowers. In the dry season, canopy trees are scarce, and wildflowers are scattered, while purple sim flowers display their vivid hues.
