Looking back on over a decade of technological development, we can see significant progress in both general technology and mobile data transmission technology, with several generations including 2G, 3G, and now 4G.
4G networks have been extensively researched worldwide and have been adopted by many countries. In Vietnam, Viettel has recently conducted trials in Vung Tau. 4G inherits and enhances the technological values of previous systems such as 2G, 3G, WiMAX, Wi-Fi, IEEE 802.20, IEEE 802.22, pre-4G, RFID, and UWB, providing a vast wireless connectivity network with fast data processing speeds.
GUIDE TO CHECK IF YOUR PHONE SUPPORTS 4G
For the convenience of Mytour.vn users, we present two different methods. You can refer to either method, or if you prefer to be cautious, you can apply both at the same time.
1. Check by phone brand/model
+ Samsung (S6 EDGE): Settings => Mobile networks => Network mode => LTE/WCD-MA/GSM.
+ iPhone (6, 6 Plus, 6s, 6s Plus): Settings => Mobile => Phone & data => LTE
+ Nokia Lumia 930: Settings => Mobile network+SIM => Highest connection speed => 4G
+ Blackberry (Passport): Settings => Network and connections => Network mode => 4G&3G or 4G&3G&2G.
2. Check via IMEI number
- Press *#06# to get your IMEI number, then access here to check device information. If there is LTE information, it means 4G support.
Additionally, we also noticed some budget-friendly 4G models available in the market such as Samsung Galaxy J2, Lenovo A2010, Motorola Moto E Gen 2; if using any of these models, users can be assured and can use 4G when officially provided.
If you are using Viettel services, you can also refer to the method of registering for Viettel 3G to receive advantages in pricing and usage speed. Vina users can subscribe to Vina 3G by sending DK (package name) to 888, while for Mobifone network, send DK (package name) to 999. Wish you success in implementation!
