Bustling energy in the century-old weaving village of Dong Thap

Despite the ups and downs, the artisans of Long Khanh weaving village (Long Khanh A commune, Hong Ngự district) not only preserve their craft but also turn their scarves into indispensable souvenirs whenever returning to their homeland, Dong Thap.
Previously reliant only on two rice seasons to sell silk scarves to local farmers, the weaving village now produces thousands of scarves daily.
Moreover, international visitors, as well as those from afar, are familiar with the colorful scarves of Long Khanh, leading to the creation of neckties, handbags, and clothing.

Many young people from Long Khanh island are diligently becoming proud brand ambassadors, introducing their hometown products to friends.
Currently, there are approximately 50 households engaged in production with 150 weaving frames in the craft village. Mr. Nguyen Van Khoi, Chairman of the People's Committee of Hong Ngự district, Dong Thap, shares that the craft village development policy is always a priority for the district.
In addition to the product exhibition houses, the district plans to invest in a ferry terminal for tourist boats to conveniently dock for island tours, visit the weaving village, and purchase products from this hundred-year-old weaving village.
