Yesterday, on April 7th, a DHL Boeing 757 had to make an emergency landing at an airport in Costa Rica. During the rapid descent, the aircraft veered off the runway and broke in half. Fortunately, there were no injuries reported. It is known that DHL flight DO7216 departed from Juan Santamaría Airport (SJO) in Costa Rica bound for Guatemala City International Airport (GUA) in Guatemala. While climbing to altitude, the pilot informed air traffic control at SJO that they encountered a hydraulic system issue and requested an emergency landing. The 757-200F with tail number HP-2010DAE then turned back to SJO airport. After 25 minutes of fuel dumping, the Boeing 757-200F successfully touched down but veered off the runway during braking, performed a 180-degree turn, skidded downhill, and finally came to a stop on the grassy area nearby. The rescue team at SJO airport swiftly reached the scene, sprayed foam to prevent fire, and evacuated the flight crew. Both pilots escaped unhurt.Following the incident, DHL and SJO airport management collaborated to relocate the damaged aircraft. SJO airport resumed operations at 3:30 PM local time, approximately 5 hours after the mishap involving DO7216. However, the temporary closure of the airport affected 8,500 passengers and 57 commercial and cargo flights. For more details, you can visit the Twitter link below: https://twitter.com/i/status/1512116037717831682Check out the latest updates on this Twitter link: https://twitter.com/i/status/1512130952801263617Explore more on Twitter: https://twitter.com/i/status/1512107410504224768For further information, visit the following Twitter link: https://twitter.com/i/status/1512112337951592454Discover the latest tweet here: https://twitter.com/i/status/1512106277756977160Explore the recent updates on Twitter: https://twitter.com/i/status/1512116841451298820
