Once more, Vienna, the capital of Austria, stands out as the city with the highest quality of life globally, while Baghdad, Iraq, finds itself at the bottom of the ranking, according to the annual survey conducted by Mercer, a consulting firm.
Mercer's study is based on criteria including political stability, healthcare, education, crime, entertainment, and transportation. The survey results help companies and organizations determine compensations and allowances for employees working in international environments.

Among the top 10 leading cities, 8 are in Europe. Germany and Switzerland boast three cities in the top 10, while London slips from 40th to 41st place.
With a population of 1.8 million people, Vienna tops the survey for the ninth consecutive year, boasting a vibrant cultural scene, comprehensive healthcare, and affordable housing costs.
Ranked second is Zurich (Switzerland) with joint third positions held by Auckland (New Zealand) and Munich (Germany).
Vancouver (Canada) ranks fifth, offering the best quality of life in North America.

San Francisco (ranked 30) is the highest-ranking city in the United States, followed by Boston (ranked 35), Honolulu (ranked 36), Seattle (ranked 44), and New York (ranked 45).
The increase in crime rate caused Los Angeles (ranked 64) to drop six places compared to 2017.
Notably, Singapore ranks 25th, surpassing many cities in the United States.
Theo Martine Ferland, CEO of Mercer Europe and the Asia Pacific, credited with enhancing living standards, fostering competitive labor markets, and maintaining a robust workforce readiness, numerous cities have begun attracting multinational enterprises for investment.
Meanwhile, Baghdad has ranked last on the list for the past 10 years due to widespread domestic violence incidents throughout the city.
