On the evening of June 19th, nearly 200 passengers bound for Da Lat were once again transported by the budget airline VietJet Air to... Nha Trang. Meanwhile, almost 200 passengers bound for Nha Trang remained seated at Noi Bai International Airport.
According to the schedule, flight Hanoi - Da Lat with code VJ8861 departed from Noi Bai Airport and arrived in Da Lat on the afternoon of June 19th. However, all nearly 200 passengers on flight VJ8861 were flown directly to Cam Ranh - Nha Trang Airport. Upon arrival at Cam Ranh Airport, VietJet Air arranged for passengers to continue flying to Da Lat as per the originally scheduled itinerary. Meanwhile, almost 200 other passengers bound for Nha Trang on flight VJ8575 Hanoi - Nha Trang at the same time remained waiting at Noi Bai International Airport despite the departure time having passed.
On the evening of June 19th, VietJet Air, Northern Airports Authority, and related units promptly implemented necessary measures to ensure passengers were transported according to their intended itinerary. Simultaneously, they convened to investigate the cause of VietJet Air's aircraft landing in Cam Ranh instead of Da Lat as scheduled.

Preliminary assessments suggest that the confusion may have arisen due to VietJet Air's two flights having similar departure times and passenger capacities, leading to confusion among the relevant departments during task execution. Errors likely occurred in ground services or flight planning departments.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam is requesting the recall of VietJet Air's entire flight schedule for inspection to identify any errors. Earlier, on May 1st, 50 passengers of VietJet Air from Nha Trang bound for Ho Chi Minh City narrowly avoided being flown to Hanoi due to confusion between the ground staff for two flights departing from Cam Ranh to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
Fortunately, prior to boarding, staff members detected this confusion, ensuring passengers were not mistakenly flown for a leg of their journey. Previously, at Cam Ranh Airport, a VietJet Air flight bound for Hanoi forgot all passengers' luggage. Over 100 passengers arriving in Hanoi had to wait until the next day to retrieve their belongings.
