Vietnam Airlines has commenced the sale of non-stop flight tickets departing from Ho Chi Minh City to San Francisco starting from January 9, 2022.

The flight schedule from Ho Chi Minh City to San Francisco on January 9, 2022, is as follows:


Entry regulations in Vietnam:
– Applicable: Passengers traveling from the United States to Vietnam
– Entry requirements:
+ Confirmation of vaccination (Certificate/App) or confirmation of recovery from Covid-19 (excluding children under 2 years old).
+ Negative RT-PCR test results within 72 hours before entering Vietnam (excluding children under 2 years old).
+ For cases not fully vaccinated or with confirmation of recovery from Covid-19: Must have confirmation of hotel reservation at designated local quarantine locations (minimum 7 days) or Certificate of eligibility for home quarantine (according to the regulations of Document 5599/BYT-MT from the Ministry of Health).
+ Install and declare health information on the PC-Covid app before the flight.

Entry regulations in the United States:
– Applicable: Passengers departing from Vietnam to the United States
– Entry requirements:
- For citizens, residents, and immigrants:
Before arriving in the U.S.: Test negative for Covid-19 using Antigen or RT-PCR within 1 day before departing to the U.S.
After arriving in the U.S.:
– Covid testing 3-5 days after entry, find testing locations near your residence here.
– Monitor health and self-isolate if symptoms occur.
If passengers are not fully vaccinated, additional measures must be taken:
– Self-isolate at the place of residence for 7 days.
– If testing is not conducted, self-isolate for 10 days at the place of residence.
– Passengers are exempt from isolation and testing if they have completed Covid-19 treatment within the past 90 days.
- For other individuals:
Except for the exemption list, passengers must provide confirmation of full vaccination. Check the exemption list here.
Before arriving in the U.S.: Test negative for Covid-19 using Antigen or RT-PCR within 1 day before departing to the U.S.
For those not fully vaccinated:
- Covid testing 3-5 days after entry, find testing locations near your residence here.
- Isolate at the place of residence for 7 days, except for cases with confirmation of completing Covid-19 treatment within the past 90 days.
- Monitor health and self-isolate if symptoms occur.
- If planning to stay in the U.S. for more than 60 days, passengers must have a vaccination plan within 60 days of arrival in the U.S., except for cases unable to receive the vaccine due to medical reasons with confirmation from a doctor.
After arriving in the U.S.:
- Covid testing 3-5 days after entry, find testing locations near your residence here.
- Passengers are exempt from isolation and testing if they have completed Covid-19 treatment within the past 90 days.
- All passengers must fill out a disclosure form and sign it. The form can be downloaded here.
Vaccination Requirements:
- Accepted vaccine types: single dose - Janssen/ Johnson & Johnson, two doses - Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna, Astra Zeneca, Covaxin, Covi Shield, BIBP/Sinopharm, Sinovac.
- Passengers are considered fully vaccinated if: 14 days have passed after receiving one dose of Janssen/ Johnson & Johnson or two doses of the mentioned types; mixed vaccine doses are accepted if 14 days have passed since the second dose, and the two doses are administered at least 17 days apart.
Requirements for the Vaccination Certificate:
- Personal information: full name, date of birth, passport number matching the passenger's information.
- Certificate issuer (e.g., health authority, government unit).
- Vaccine type and date of administration.
