After a 2-year hiatus, a coastal tourism route linking Vietnam and China has reopened.

The tourism route, established in 1998 between the Beibu Gulf region in Guangxi Province, China, and Vietnam's Halong Bay, is the only coastal tourism route connecting the two countries. It's also China's first transnational coastal tourism route. Over the years, an estimated 500,000 visitors have traveled this route.
The welcoming ceremony for the first 400 Chinese tourists arriving from the Beibu Gulf to visit Halong Bay after the 2-year interruption took place on June 29th.
The coastal tourism route is expected to resume regular operations, offering 4-day itineraries to bring tourists from China to Vietnam via a 3-hour boat journey. New coastal tourism routes to other Southeast Asian countries like Singapore and Malaysia are also anticipated.
