Vietnam secures a spot in the top 10 countries with the cheapest mobile data tariffs globally, with each GB costing around 7,000 Vietnamese dong.
Leading UK-based mobile service comparison website, Cable.co.uk, has just released the latest findings from its global research on mobile data tariffs. This study collected data from 5,603 mobile data plans across 237 countries worldwide this year, providing a comprehensive overview of mobile data tariffs worldwide.

According to the report, Zimbabwe is identified as the country with the highest mobile data tariffs globally. With an average price of $43.75 (approximately 1.067 million dong) per GB of mobile data, Zimbabweans have to pay a significant amount for mobile services. Following Zimbabwe, the United States is also among the countries with expensive mobile data tariffs, with an average price of $6 per GB of mobile data. The most expensive plan in the US costs up to $83.33 (equivalent to about 2 million dong) per GB of data.
Canada is also among the countries with high mobile data tariffs, with an average price of $5.37 per GB of mobile data. In comparison, the UK is noted for its much lower mobile data tariffs, with an average price of only $0.62 per GB of mobile data. However, when it comes to the country with the cheapest mobile data prices, Israel cannot be overlooked.
In Israel, citizens can access mobile data plans at an average price of only $0.02 per GB, providing affordable internet access. The cheapest plan in Israel costs only $0.001 per GB. Intense competition and widespread coverage of 4G and 5G networks nationwide contribute to Israel's low mobile internet tariffs.

Apart from Israel and Italy, the top 10 countries with the cheapest mobile networks in the world include Fiji, San Marino, India, Pakistan, France, and Colombia, with average mobile data prices ranging from $0.20 per GB downwards. Conversely, countries with the most expensive mobile data tariffs include Zimbabwe, the Falkland Islands, Switzerland, the Cayman Islands, and Yemen.
Vietnam is also mentioned in this report and ranks 21st on the list of countries with the cheapest mobile data plans globally, with an average price of $0.29 per GB, equivalent to about 7,000 VND. Experts suggest that mobile data tariffs often reflect the development of telecommunications infrastructure and the prevalence of 4G and 5G networks. Countries with good infrastructure and widespread networks tend to have lower mobile data tariffs. Conversely, higher prices often appear in countries with 'overloaded infrastructure' and limited mobile data usage.
Countries with affordable mobile data tariffs bring significant benefits to their citizens and economies. Firstly, low tariffs facilitate convenient access to the internet and mobile services, enabling people to access information, education, and career opportunities more easily.

Additionally, affordable mobile tariffs also stimulate the development of the digital economy and encourage innovation in the mobile technology sector. Low tariffs can also create a strong competitive environment among network providers, leading to better services and attractive benefits for users.
Moreover, countries with cheap mobile tariffs can attract investment and tourism, creating conditions for economic development and providing numerous opportunities for people. In summary, maintaining low mobile tariffs is a crucial factor in improving the quality of life and fostering economic development in a country.
