This actress always takes pride in her Vietnamese heritage while working in Hollywood.
It's a great honor for young stars to be part of either Marvel or DC superhero films. However, not everyone has had the chance to work in both rival studios. Surprisingly, a Vietnamese beauty has been part of both Marvel and DC films, achieving remarkable success and establishing a definite position in Hollywood.

Dianne Doan's parents are Vietnamese immigrants living in Canada. Since childhood, she has had a burning passion for the arts. Seeing her interest in dance and acting, Dianne's mother, Tam Anh, enrolled her in talent classes at a very young age. In grade 7, she began taking acting classes to hone her skills. However, Dianne Doan started her showbiz career as a dancer.

In 2010, she had the honor of performing in the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympics, then worked as a backup dancer for the famous singer Michael Buble. Also that year, Dianne Doan began acting but with very minor roles, appearing in only 1 episode. It wasn't until half a decade later that the actress caught Disney's eye and gained widespread recognition for her role in the Descendants franchise, depicting Lonnie - the daughter of Mulan and Captain Shang.

Thanks to her appearances in Disney films, Dianne Doan's income began to soar. According to brand value statistics, Dianne earned over $98.8 thousand in one year (over 2.3 billion VND) when she began to rise to fame in 2015. Since then, she has had the opportunity to star in DC's Legends of Tomorrow and Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., making her the only Vietnamese actress to achieve this feat to date.

After portraying Mulan's daughter, Dianne Doan continues to attract attention from major film crews. In 2019, she landed her first leading role in the HBO series Warrior, inspired by the life of martial arts legend Bruce Lee. With her experience and flexibility from dancing, Dianne Doan impresses alongside other Asian actors. Thanks to this project, Dianne Doan's net commercial value increased by $1 million.

Currently, Dianne Doan is promoting season 3 of Warrior. In an interview, she expressed pride in her Canadian-Vietnamese heritage and understands the responsibility of portraying and representing East Asians accurately in Hollywood. The 9X actress has a special affection for Vietnam, having traveled with her family to Ben Tre several times, although she has no intention of acting in Vietnamese films.
