In India, Ha had never encountered scenes of passengers clinging to the roof of trains, dogs and cats often lying 'nonchalantly' in the middle of the road, and everyone passing by would avoid them.
Nguyen Thu Ha is a student studying in India. She mentioned that when India is mentioned, many people think of it as an unsafe place. However, that is not the complete picture of India. Here are some of Ha's experiences during her 2 years of living and studying in this country.
Trains
When talking about trains in India, tourists imagine crowded trains with many people clinging to them, sitting on the roof. I was very excited to see that scene in reality.
But during my two years living in India, traveling to many regions, I have never witnessed this scene. It no longer exists, the image you see is India from a long time ago.
I had the opportunity to experience everything from first class to economy class compartments, encountered scenes of overcrowded train compartments, but never experienced the frightening things I had heard before like harassment or theft.

Language
Indians do not have a national language. They have 23 official languages used in 29 states. Hindi and English are the official languages used by the central government, different states have different official languages. Each state uses its own common language, so although they are Indians, people in this state may not understand the language of people in another state.

Indians know at least 2 languages. Indian English may not be polished or even difficult to understand, but from children to the elderly, from street vendors to government officials, they can speak English.
Flora
Indians love their flora. They would rather have a hole through their house to protect a tree than cut it down.
Animals
Travelers are no strangers to the sight of cows sauntering, even lying on the road causing congestion. It's a reality in India. But it's not just cows; dogs can also lie leisurely on the road and passersby often avoid them rather than shooing them away.
Indians don't eat dog or cat meat, so there are many stray dogs and cats here, they're even fed rice, cookies, and bread.
Clothing
While in many countries around the world, traditional clothing is only worn on special occasions, in India people wear traditional attire daily. However, they're usually made of affordable materials, not overly elaborate, and convenient for daily activities.
In addition to Sarees, which many are familiar with, they also have other traditional clothing like Kurtas, Salwar.
Housing
The houses are built close together but there are no fences separating the balconies of neighboring houses, even the rooftop doesn't have fences or barriers. You can jump from one house to another via the rooftop just like in action movies.
