Not everyone can conquer a “Western woman,” but once they like you, “it” becomes very simple.

The current trend among partygoers isn't just hitting the clubs, staying up all night with stimulants, street racing... they also seek a change of pace by getting acquainted with Western women.

Scoping out this peculiar interest, we wandered around the central streets near Hoan Kiem Lake (Hanoi) and discovered many unbelievable and amusing stories.

Speaking broken English still works charms with Western women.

Streets like Ma May, Luong Ngoc Quyen, Dao Duy Tu, and Hang Bac have long been known as 'Western women' streets due to the high density of foreigners. Here, not only are there crowded eateries and bars frequented by foreigners, but many families also offer services to Westerners to boost their income.

In the realm of sophistication, many elites seek companionship in Western women. They spare no expense, lavishing pricey gifts to win their hearts. Western women adore confident and attentive men. Thus, to court them, Hanoi's elite prepare both emotionally and financially for new relationships.

Nam Hung, a seasoned player in Hanoi's Dinh Liet Street, divulged: 'Fluency in English isn't always crucial in wooing Western women.' Despite poor English skills, many have succeeded. Some have even won their hearts despite linguistic shortcomings.

Wealthy individuals favor long-term relationships with Western women to flaunt among peers rather than fleeting affairs. Once captivated, winning them over is simple. Foreigners often take the lead, unlike Vietnamese women who may hesitate. Each Western woman signals consent differently.

Nam Hung reveals a similar trend in Saigon, though Hanoians lean towards one-night stands. After intimacy, they maintain anonymity, refraining from sharing personal details like addresses or phone numbers. They rendezvous at familiar haunts, parting ways afterward.

Venturing into Saigon for Western pursuits

Hoang Son, a third-year student at Hanoi University of Science and Technology, shares: 'Our class was stunned when Minh, a stylish heir, paraded his English girlfriend. Minh's romantic history runs deep. He cycles through partners like clothes, so introducing a new one wasn't surprising. He claims it's to improve his English before studying abroad in England. Yet, academics take a backseat to bar-hopping, clubbing, and shopping. His adventurous foreign girlfriend ensures their compatibility,' Son adds.
