With 11 takedowns, RoyHihi secures victory in the 6th match, setting the first-ever record at the Naraka World Finals 2022.
NBWC 2022 introduces a new rule to limit hero repetition. Specifically, players can only pick the same hero once across 6 matches. While this may not affect skilled players much, renowned 'one-trick' players may face challenges.
Vietnam is ranked as the world's second-best Naraka region. RoyHihi is the biggest hope for Vietnam in Singles Combat. Yesterday, RoyHihi began his Singles Combat journey. His opponents included top Naraka players worldwide like Spider, The King, and Dao1Hui.
In the first 5 matches, attention was mainly on contestants from the host region. However, RoyHihi also had impressive combat moments, such as decisively ending OUG.TheKing's explosive 6 consecutive takedowns. Unfortunately, RoyHihi's highest achievement in the initial 5 matches was only reaching Top 2 – trailing behind BAODA.Hfly.
However, the 6th match was entirely different. With the Tarka Ji hero, RoyHihi surged ahead from the beginning, using fire to take down 3 opponents one after another, even resurrecting GLY.Tanoshi and WolfU.Choice simultaneously. A fantastic start propelled Roy's performance to new heights, even surpassing RIN.Deemo's expectations.
Afterwards, RoyHihi consistently showcased the 'VCS spirit,' engaging fearlessly in combat anywhere, yet also demonstrating courageous retreats. With 5 takedowns at that moment, mere survival until the end of the match would secure overall victory, highlighting the crucial need to maintain a cool head.
In response, further takedowns successively came to RoyHihi amidst the audience's excitement. Entering the final match against EWG.YeRan, both players showcased exceptional individual skills. However, RoyHiHi had to halt his takedown count at 11. Nevertheless, with this tally, RoyHihi established the first NBWC record, leading the list of players with the most takedowns in Singles Combat.
