Vietnam Motor Show 2022 returns after a 2-year delay due to the Covid-19 pandemic, featuring surprises including new car models from 14 different brands and premium electric car lines. However, one particularly intriguing highlight, as captivating as the displayed cars, is a personally crafted Vietnamese flying car, having undergone over 1,000km test flights.

Airlios, a brand specializing in personal flying vehicles, also known as personal flying cars, developed by a Vietnamese start-up company. At the Vietnam Auto Show 2022 event, the brand presented its first product named Pegasus to the public. The goal of Airlios Pegasus is to turn unique ideas into reality, providing a new transportation model to address traffic congestion issues in Vietnam.
With a mission to shape an intelligent future, start-up Airlios has incorporated numerous advanced features in line with 4.0 standards into its products. The Pegasus flying car can be programmed to fly autonomously without manual control, although users also have the option to pilot it themselves after completing the company's training course. This versatility finds applications in various transportation, rescue, and passenger transport sectors.

Airlios Pegasus stands out as an impressive flying vehicle at Vietnam Motor Show 2022. This flying car operates on environmentally friendly electric energy, powered by easily recyclable lithium-ion batteries, or elegantly referred to as eVtol. However, the product seems to lack refinement in design, with some joint and connection details appearing less meticulous. The interior cockpit also lacks true sophistication.
The finishing materials of Pegasus flying car are relatively high-end, focusing on weight reduction by utilizing aluminum alloy and carbon fiber. It features both manual and automatic control mechanisms, taking off vertically similar to helicopters. In total, it has 8 electric motors to operate.

Pegasus has a single-seater design with a range of only 33km per full charge. Its operational principle resembles that of unmanned aerial vehicles prevalent in the market. This flying car has dimensions (length x height x wingspan) of 1.9 x 1.15 x 2m respectively. The payload capacity of Pegasus is 220kg. However, due to its relatively modest size, this first product from Airlios is more suitable for individuals over 1.68m tall.
In the rapidly changing digital transformation era, Vietnamese start-ups are striving to introduce numerous products laying the groundwork for the country's future development. All businesses can unleash their creativity to serve society. The transportation industry is currently one of the pioneers in digital transformation and environmental sustainability, as electric vehicles begin to be developed and favored.

However, Vietnam's transportation infrastructure is facing significant challenges due to severe deterioration, and traffic congestion in major cities complicates the movement of residents. Flying cars offer an effective solution to traffic congestion; however, they also raise additional issues regarding aviation safety.
Currently, flying cars are not a novelty, and many companies, including Hyundai and Toyota, are researching, developing, and commercializing flying cars worldwide. In European and American markets, flying cars have been developed and introduced for a long time. However, they have not fully addressed issues related to flight safety and air traffic.
