Visa-free countries for Vietnamese citizens:
There are 17 countries, including 9 within Southeast Asia.
1. Thailand: Stay duration not exceeding 30 days.

2. Singapore: Stay duration not exceeding 30 days with a return ticket or onward ticket to another country, sufficient funds for the stay, and necessary conditions for entry into another country.
3. Laos: Stay duration not exceeding 30 days. Those who wish to stay longer than 30 days must obtain a visa in advance; stay duration can be extended up to 2 times, each time for 30 days.
4. Dominica: Stay duration of 30 days.
5. Kyrgyzstan: No limit on stay duration.
6. Micronesia: Stay duration of 30 days.
7. Cambodia: Stay duration not exceeding 30 days.

Japan: Starting from November, Vietnamese, Filipino, and Indonesian tourists participating in designated tour packages provided by selected travel companies in Japan will have simplified procedures for a single tourist visa application. The validity period of Japanese tourist visas will be extended to 5 years (previously 3 years). Additionally, citizens of these three countries, even if not residing there, can also apply for a Japanese visa through an authorized diplomatic agency in their country of residence.

Note that you must present $100 for each entry, but it's just for display, not payment. You also need to show a round-trip flight ticket.

Nepal: Situated between India and China, visiting the small country of Nepal only requires you to prepare USD for visa fees ($20 for a 15-day visa), 2 passport-sized photos, and a blank page in your passport. You can obtain a visa upon arrival at Kathmandu airport, with a stay duration of 90 days.
41. India: Vietnam is one of the few countries allowed to apply for a visa upon arrival at 4 Indian airports: Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, and Kolkata. However, the visa obtained at Indian airports is single-entry and valid for 30 days, costing $60. Contact the Indian embassy or consulate in Vietnam for more information if you wish to apply for a multiple-entry or longer-duration visa.
42. Sri Lanka: Famous for its tea and heritage sites, the island nation of Sri Lanka warmly welcomes international tourists. You only need to apply for a visa online, pay the visa fee with a bank card, wait for approval, print the confirmation, and bring it to the airport for departure to Sri Lanka.
43. United Arab Emirates (UAE): Emirates and Etihad are two UAE airlines currently operating flights from Vietnam. Emirates flies directly to Dubai, while Etihad flies to Abu Dhabi. If you use tickets from these two airlines, you can easily apply for a visa online or contact their office in Ho Chi Minh City for detailed guidance. You can also purchase Stop Over packages for up to 96 hours, which include visa arrangements if you have a layover in the UAE.
44. Iran: Ordinary Vietnamese passports can obtain visas at Iranian border checkpoints valid for 17 days and costing $50. Immigration information in Tehran, the capital, requires you to bring passport-sized photos for visa on arrival. However, in some cases, they may not require photos.
45. Burundi: Visas are issued at Bujumbura Airport upon arrival, with a stay duration of 30 days.
