ViewSonic aims to build a virtual realm, where teachers and students can connect in a digital space.
ViewSonic recently introduced the latest EdTech solution named 'UNIVERSE by ViewSonic.' The beta version has been officially launched with a dynamic 3D virtual learning environment. By creating a Metaverse virtual realm, teachers and students can connect in a digital space from any location in the real world.
'The COVID-19 pandemic has profoundly impacted all aspects of global economic and social life, including education. However, the application of information technology and digital transformation in education has become a valuable tool to overcome barriers of space and time,' shared Mr. Kevin Chu, Project Development Director of the UNIVERSE project at ViewSonic.
'As a pioneering EdTech solutions company, we have developed a digital learning platform to enhance the experience and bring joy to students in every class. UNIVERSE by ViewSonic is a virtual reality project aimed at helping students explore freely, ask questions through experiences in a 3D role-playing environment, and enabling teachers to build virtual landscapes based on the curriculum, creating excitement for students beyond just reading books,' said Mr. Kevin Chu.
'UNIVERSE by ViewSonic' offers numerous interactive spaces for teachers and students such as classrooms, auditoriums, and common activity spaces. Students can express themselves freely and interact with other students worldwide through personalized avatars. The controls, communication tools, and emotions are all designed to be intuitive and user-friendly, providing a lifelike experience.
For teachers, UNIVERSE by ViewSonic provides interactive teaching tools such as screen sharing, teacher's camera presentations, and features like quizzes and puzzles to meet various teaching needs. Meanwhile, students can engage in shared spaces for collaborative learning or be assigned to individual classrooms for group discussions.
Lastly, the class management features allow teachers to switch between teaching and discussion modes. Combined with real-time reporting data automatically synthesized by the system on class information, student interaction levels, and focus, teachers can take immediate actions to enhance the quality of the lesson.
The official release of UNIVERSE by ViewSonic is expected in 2023.
