VinFast establishes electric vehicle manufacturing plant in the United States

VinFast and the North Carolina state government have recently signed an agreement to build an electric vehicle assembly plant in this state. It's reported that the plant will be constructed this year and start operating two years thereafter. This is where VinFast plans to assemble vehicles like VF8 or VF9 to serve the U.S. market.

Phase 1 of the plant will involve an investment of up to $2 billion, including electric vehicle assembly, battery production, and support facilities. The capacity of the plant in this phase will be 150,000 vehicles per year and will create numerous jobs for the local community. This is part of VinFast's global development strategy, with manufacturing plants planned for each business region. They will also build plants in Europe to serve this market.
