During the early days of May, the Son Tra forest is painted with the vivid purple hue of each Thàn mát blossom.
Violet Essence Adorning Son Tra Peninsula

Thàn mát blossoms flourish across a wide area on both sides of the concrete road from Tien Sa port. Photography enthusiasts and locals passionate about Son Tra flock here to explore and capture photos during this time.
Thàn mát belongs to the small hardwood tree category, of the legume family, favoring tropical climates. Thàn mát flowers blossom at the leaf axils at the end of branches, measuring over 15cm in length and exhibiting a purple hue. Thàn mát blooms for about two to three weeks every May, with each blooming period lasting only around 10 days.
The azure violet Thàn mát flowers bloom in long cascading clusters, intertwining with the lush green young leaves, creating a mesmerizing and captivating sight. Standing beside the flower clusters, visitors can easily catch the intense, sweet fragrance wafting from hundreds of thousands of petals carried by the wind.
