During the World Economic Forum 2013 (WEF) in Myanmar, Vietnamese CEO Do Thi Thuy Hang participated in a discussion on 'The Next Big Idea' with former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair and other prominent figures. Thuy Hang represented young Vietnamese at the WEF.
The discussion focused on leadership lessons, creativity in Vietnam, and personal views on women's rights. Thuy Hang devoted much time to discussing the potential of applying online tools and the Internet to the development of the tourism sector. 'Technology not only shapes an industry with revenue but also creates a platform for equality,' the female CEO stated.
Regarding her business sector, Do Thi Thuy Hang noted that many Vietnamese tourism companies and management agencies do not regularly update online information, despite 90% of global travelers using the Internet to plan their trips. 'Therefore, we aim to use online tools and information technology to open the door to attract more tourists to Vietnam, while also creating more job opportunities,' she explained.
The female entrepreneur sees Myanmar as a real-life example of tourism development through information and online technology, expressing 'surprise at the results that Myanmar has achieved.' This also sets the goal for her own direction.
Do Thi Thuy Hang graduated from Hanoi - Amsterdam High School and received a full scholarship to Orbelin University (USA).
