Various Ways to Delete Photos on Android Phones
If you're facing issues with not being able to delete photos, you can explore some methods below to delete photos on your Android phone.
Method 1: Restart Your Phone
If you can't delete photos on your Android phone, the first solution is to restart it to refresh the device. Sometimes, the cause of the error may be temporary accumulated files or full storage.
Method 2: Delete Photos Correctly
The only way to delete photos in the photo gallery is to press the Delete button. However, if you use Google Photos as the photo gallery app, the steps to delete photos will be more complicated.
If you're using an offline photo gallery app without storing photos in cloud services, simply press the Delete button to remove photos. If backup is enabled on Google Photos or other cloud storage services, there are two ways to delete photos:

Sometimes, the reason for the issue of not being able to delete photos on Android phones may be the app library's cache memory, such as Google Photos. Follow the steps below to clear the app library's cache memory and fix the issue:
Step 1: Open the Settings app on your Android phone => Apps & notifications. On some devices, this section may be named Apps.
Step 2: The screen will display a list of installed apps. Tap the 3-dot icon in the top corner and choose Show system apps.
Step 3: Find and select Media storage.
Step 4: Tap Storage => Clear cache.

Open the File Explorer app on your phone. In the app settings window, enable the option Show hidden files. After enabling the option, access the DCIM folder, where you will find a folder named .thumbnails. Select all files in the folder and delete them.
