Ways to Open PPTX Files on Macbook
Every Macbook model running any version of OS X is capable of opening PowerPoint files. To find out which apps are available, simply right-click on the PPTX file in Finder, then select Open With. Depending on the applications and programs you have installed on your Mac, here are the options you can choose from:

Choose any application to open PowerPoint (PPT) and PowerPoint Slideshow (PPTX) files.
If you select Column view in Finder, you can view files without opening any application. Click on the arrow icon displayed on the preview pane in Finder to navigate through slides. Right-click on the file name, then select Quick Look to open a larger window containing thumbnails, and you can click on them to navigate through slides.
Using PowerPoint
Step 1: Click on File menu, then choose Export To =>PowerPoint.
Step 2: Click on the Format menu, then select PPT if you want to save the file in PPT format on your old computer. Otherwise, click Next to use the default PPTX format. Note that Keynote can protect files with a password, just check the Require Password to Open box.
Step 3: In the Save As dialog box, give a name to the file, making sure not to use the old PPTX file name, then click the Export button.
Utilize Preview
The Preview application in Mac OS X can open all PowerPoint files, similar to PDFs. However, you cannot modify the file. Preview is the top choice if you only want to view or print slides. To view slides, simply scroll down.
Alternative Approaches
If you have a Microsoft Office subscription, you can open and edit any PowerPoint file saved in Microsoft OneDrive using PowerPoint Online. When saving a PowerPoint file, choose OneDrive, Microsoft's cloud storage service. When you log in to PowerPoint Online, your saved files will be there.
If you have a Google account or Gmail, upload the file to Google Drive. Click on the gear icon in Google Drive, select Settings, then check the Convert box to convert the PPTX file to Google Slides format for viewing and editing. To download the file in PPTX format from Google Slides, select Download As from the File menu, then choose Microsoft PowerPoint (.pptx).
