Starting from Nhat Le Beach (Dong Hoi City, Quang Binh), following the coastal asphalt road weaving through the lush green bamboo forests of Mother Ngheng, you'll have the opportunity to explore many new wonders in the coastal land of Nhan Trach.
Experience Sunrise Fishing in Nhan Trach, Quang Binh

Nhan Trach coastal commune (Bo Trach district, Quang Binh province) was once very tranquil. However, since April 2016, it has suddenly gained attention in the media due to environmental incidents caused by Formosa, resulting in red seawater and dead coral reefs...
Few know that Nhan Trach is also a tourist destination awaiting visitors to explore and experience.
Await the Sunrise Catch
Exploring the Coastal Charms of Nhan Trach
Every day around 4-5 am, especially during the summer, the beaches of Nhan Trach are bustling with locals and fishermen welcoming the catch.
On the sandy shores, fishermen's families gather in groups, chatting and waiting for the catch. Many bring their children along, playing amidst the peaceful scenery.
As the boats approach the shore, fishermen dive into the water, pulling along the boats filled with fish, shrimp, squid, and crabs... Sometimes, even family members and fishing crew dive in to help, creating a unique hustle and bustle at the fishing dock.
Here, tourists can immerse themselves in the fishing experience, wading into the sea to pull the small boats or assisting fishermen in pushing the heavily laden boats ashore, braving each wave.
The salty scent of the sea, the fishy aroma mingled with the sound of waves and fishermen's calls, creates an unforgettable experience. When bringing the fishing boat ashore, don't forget to capture those moments for keepsakes on... Facebook.
For those uninterested in waiting at the fish dock, tourists can relax on the concrete embankment along the sandy beach, gazing out at the vast sea. The expansive blue surface is adorned with the reddish-gold sun, gradually rising from the distant horizon.
From here, visitors can observe all activities at the fish docks and capture vibrant wide-angle photos of boats, the open sea, and people carrying fish along the village path in the radiant dawn light...
In the afternoon, as dusk descends, the fishermen's boats once again set sail. The sea is bathed in the golden summer afternoon sunlight.

Village by the Waves
If you visit Nhan Trach in the early morning, along the way, don't forget to stop and admire the long stretches of golden sandbanks right next to the road.
If time permits, tourists can climb to the top of these sandbanks, just a few dozen meters from the road, to gaze towards Dong Hoi City in the distance or witness the sea glowing in the red and pink hues of dawn.
In the light of that dawn, bobbing on the silver waves were boats resembling tiny bamboo leaves, eagerly returning to shore after a night of wandering the vast sea.
After watching the sunrise and immersing themselves with the fishermen at the fish dock, tourists engage in sand sliding on the high sand dunes near the village, introduced by a company for trial. Not only tourists but even locals from Quang Binh are fond of this sand sliding activity in the early morning or late afternoon.
Mr. Tran Nam Anh (residing in Thanh Xuan district, Hanoi) couldn't contain his excitement, stating: 'When climbing up the sand dune, it's a bit tiring, but when lying on the sliding board and racing down along the slope of the sand ridge, it's incredibly thrilling. It gives a strong sense of freedom amidst the vast, expansive stretch of sand...'
Disenchanted with sand sliding, tourists venture into the village to explore the rustic charm of some of the 15 fishing villages in Nhan Trach commune, such as Nam village, Dinh village, Nhan Nam village, Nhan Quang village, Tay Ho village...
The villages still boast many old-style houses with tiled roofs, brick or stone walls built with lime mortar. The village lanes are narrow, winding, leading visitors to various caves and alleys of the village, always creating a fresh experience for city-dwelling tourists.
Due to the elevated terrain of these hamlets, just a few meters above the beach, and the closely packed houses, they form numerous shapes. In the glow of the sunset spreading over the sea, standing under the coastal concrete road or on the beach, looking up at the villages of Nhan Nam, Nhan Quang, Khối..., one can see the outskirts of these villages are not much different from... stone fortresses.
In the afternoon within the village, visitors often encounter groups of women sitting together under the shade of the road leading from the village center to the beach, selecting shellfish, fresh fish, or drying fish, squid...
Mrs. Nguyen Thi Diu (from Nhan Nam hamlet) is always ready to 'perform' the process of drying fish for everyone to see. Mrs. Diu believes that to make delicious dried fish, all processing steps must be completed before 9 am, so that the fresh fish can enjoy the best sunlight of the day.
'Dried fish looks beautiful and tastes rich in the flavor of the sea. In the summer, my family processes 4 to 5 tons of anchovies, mackerel... Every meal, the dried fish from our village can even be exported to China, Korea, Laos...' - Mrs. Diu said.
Fresh Seafood, Hospitable Locals
In Nhan Trach, freshly caught seafood is processed by locals into fish sauce, dried seafood... Tourists can buy fresh or dried seafood from here and take it home, ensuring it's truly clean and delicious from the sunny and windy Quang Binh coastal area.
The people of Nhan Trach are simple and friendly. Guests who want to stay overnight in this fishing village are warmly welcomed. If not, head to the beach in the afternoon to meet the boats bringing seafood ashore, buy some fish, squid, crabs still jumping lively under the boat, and grill them over a fire.
As the beer bottles dwindled, we laid back, arms spread on the sand under the star-filled sky... slipping into a blissful slumber in the cool sea breeze.
