To remove background apps on iPhone 8 and older devices, follow these steps:
Step 1: Double tap the Home button to open the multitasking view (App Switcher).
Step 2: Swipe the app cards from bottom to top to close the apps.
2.2. On iPhone X
Step 1: Swipe up from the bottom edge of the iPhone X screen to display the multitasking view.
Step 2: Press and hold the app you want to close until the red circle icon with a '-' symbol inside appears, located at the top left corner of the app.
Step 3: Tap the red circular icon to close the app or alternatively swipe the app card upwards.
