1. What is poultry?
Poultry is the collective term for feathered animals with two legs that humans raise primarily for eggs, meat, and feathers. Poultry farming is also considered a vital part of the agricultural industry.
2. What animals are considered poultry?
Poultry representatives familiar to us, such as chickens, ducks, geese, and birds, are all two-legged animals. However, aquatic poultry, capable of swimming underwater, are collectively called waterfowl.
Apart from obtaining eggs, meat, and feathers from poultry, humans also utilize birds for entertainment, as indoor pets, and for ornamental purposes.
To distinguish between poultry and livestock, you simply need to look at their legs; livestock typically have four legs, whereas poultry have two.
