Impressive, yet lamentably, LG has withdrawn from the mobile market. The LG Wing stood out as LG's statement in the smartphone realm. Boasting dual swivel screens, it embodied a creative design language, markedly distinct from the foldable dual-screen approach adopted by other manufacturers. So, beyond its groundbreaking design, does the LG Wing truly enhance the user experience with its unique dual swivel screens? Let's delve into the practicality of this design.Independent multitasking on both screens
As mentioned, the LG Wing operates differently from other dual-screen smartphones. It's a rarity to find a mobile device capable of running independent content on both screens, and the LG Wing accomplishes just that. You can practically open any application on both screens simultaneously. This means reading the news and browsing the web on the smaller screen while watching YouTube videos on the larger one, and vice versa.Cool games optimized for dual-screen play
Experience dual-screen gaming with Asphalt 9. On the horizontal main screen, control your racing car as usual. The square secondary screen above displays the race route map, adding a cool touch. Currently, Asphalt 9 is the only game I've found that supports gameplay on both screens; others like Subway Surfer and Modern Combat 5 are limited to a single screen.
Open any image on the large screen, then swipe down on the small screen. Select the icon in the top-left corner, and the secondary screen will appear. Now, the small screen acts as a touchpad. On the main large screen, a mouse cursor will appear, allowing you to observe, click, zoom in, and zoom out with greater precision.Utilize an attached gymbal for your phone
This is a standout and worthwhile feature on the LG device. With the super-wide-angle lens, you don't need to adjust the angle manually; simply use the built-in Gymbal feature in the camera interface for impressive versatility.Record dual-view videos with front and rear cameras
With the Dual feature, you can shoot videos using both the front and rear cameras simultaneously. The flexible camera angles are adjustable, and the pop-up camera is quite impressive. Oddly, this mode only activates when the screen is rotated into a cross shape. It makes sense when filming horizontally; the secondary screen below minimizes the need to touch the main screen during operations.
Thanks to
